Why autism? Why Brett?

For the month of April I am choosing to give towards Autism Therapy for my {Handmade with Purpose} contributions.

Here is the breakdown:
-proceeds from every sale of children's artwork
from my shop during April
(including a custom order I have set up)
-proceeds from a few special paintings I am making in honor of Brett (that have been started but not completed)
will go towards a local program,
and
towards a Language for Learning program for Brett's Resource Room

Does that make sense?
If not, just know I am giving what I can to people (smiles, nods, and winks).

Why Autism? Why Brett?
I could give statistics.
I could tell stories.
I will share these instead:

-Brett is my friend's son. He has Autism. Get to know Brett here & here.
-My husband used to do Autism Therapy with students, and it had an impact on me.
AND, last but not least
-If you are giving to others but not giving to your family, well, it's in vain.

- Theodore Roosevelt

I hope you will help me support Brett
and so many others

  2. Very cool. We have an ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) program where I work, they work heavily with Autism and those affected by it.

  3. This is very near and dear to my heart. My sister was diagnosed with autism when she was 2 years old, and thanks to treatments, therapies, and a special diet [and God's goodness] you would never know today. Thanks for doing this Lindsay :]
