That Anne Girl { shop talk }

I just loved "Anne with an E", from Anne of Green Gables
by Lucy Maud Montgomery.
Her imagination, her silly predicaments, puffed sleeves, and kindred spirits.
This quote just makes me smile and brings back all the memories of watching the Anne of Green Gables series as a girl. I think I need to re-watch them soon and of course pick up the book!

Even if you haven't ever heard of Anne of Green Gables I'm sure you can relate to the sweet quote :)

the moon, note cards, and minis {shop talk & DISCOUNT code}

The other day I sat down to work on an assignment.
As I started to draw the direction quickly turned from my assignment to a new print.
It was totally unexpected. I fell in love with the finished sketch. It was the perfect drawing for the well loved quote from
the book Guess How Much I Love You  by Sam McBratney.
I haven't made many prints that fit in a little boy's room. It's nice to offer something for boys... even though I have two boys of my own I have a hard time coming up with boyish prints. I think this has gotten my creative gears turning.

I am thinking about offering it in another color, maybe like a lighter blue and a primary yellow. What are your thoughts?

Also, I have added new note card sets and a few new mini cards to the shop.

These are my new favorite.
These are fun and bright.
These are a new combination of two prints and the arrow note card set.
These are perfect for handmade gifts or orders.
These go great with homemade goodies.

With all the new stuff in the shop it's time for a discount.
Use the code NEW15 for 15% off your order (not just new things, but anything) through tomorrow 10/25.

Happy Wednesday!

live a creative life

Live a creative life.
Share what you create.
What you create won't be perfect. Nothing ever is,
but what you create is something you put your time, heart and energy into.
Create:
words with paper,
colors with canvas,
drawings with pens,
pretty things with fabric,
sparkly things with metal,
new things with wood,
special things with glass,
beautiful things with clay,
new life with seeds & dirt,
cozy things with yarn,
memories with a lens,
poetry with instruments,
amazing food with ingredients,
whatever it is you have, just create.
Most importantly create
love with family,
laughter with friends,
friendships with strangers,
peace with enemies.

"To live a creative life we must loose our fear of being wrong."

snapshots of our week 10/6 - 10/12

Sunflowers were admired.

Silly pictures were taken.
Jack was totally unimpressed,
and Charlie had to take a picture in ever single cut-out.

Pumpkins were picked.

Baby pumpkins were painted.

Scarves were worn... with tank tops.

Scarecrows were made.

Last Saturday morning we decided to take the boys to pick out pumpkins.
It was perfect - a bright, sunshiny day, still cool outside, and best of all we beat the crowds of other families (the pumpkin patch was offering free hay-rides that afternoon). If you are a parent of small children, you know what I'm saying. We let the boys choose their baby pumpkins to paint. I chose a white pumpkin just to look pretty, and Robbie chose the big pumpkin for us to carve.

This week we enjoyed Mr.Wonderful being home for extra days with Fall break. We painted pumpkins and made scarecrows to add to our little bit of Fall decor. I couldn't hold off making soup any longer despite our warm afternoons, and we enjoyed taco soup last night for the first time since winter. The only thing I think I'm missing is a candied apple from the fair and much cooler weather.

Hope you are enjoying Fall as much as we are.

Oh, I almost forgot, we have a winner!
Abby I will contact you soon :)

Did someone say Fall? { FREE Printable too }

This is about the extent of my Fall decor - felt leave garland, artificial pumpkin that my boys like to kick around, and the wreath I made on Blue Ridge Craft Weekend. Even just these little touches along with a pumpkin candle make me smile.

It's time for pumpkin pie, apple picking, scarves, leaves turning, pumpkin spice lattes (which I don't like), candy corn
(which apparently some other people don't like, crazy people)...

So cheers to Fall (or for the fancy folks, Autumn)
and a FREE printable for you to enjoy.

Click here to download as a PDF (sized for an 8.5x11 sheet of paper and the image is 8x10 so you can trim the edges and frame).
Remember to be sweet. This is for personal use only.
