Ten 'til Joy { i heart art }

This week I'd like to introduce Andrea from Ten 'til Joy.
I love the creative twist she as on three dimensional canvas art.

1. When did you first begin creating art?
Ten 'til Joy creations began when I was first pregnant with my little girl. The name Ten 'til Joy comes from a long ten months of pregnancy, waiting for my little joy to arrive. I was so excited to begin designing and decorating the room where this little treasure would soon sleep. I had a dream of the artwork that would adorn her walls, but after searching high and low, I could not find the perfect pieces that I desired. Finally, I put my dreams to life and designed my first set, The Myla Joy Set, which now hangs over my daughter's crib.

 2. What is your favorite/most sentimental creation you have made? Why?
The first set that I created, The Myla Joy Set, holds much significance behind it. When my precious grandmother passed away, I inherited her antique, mustard yellow ceramic elephant table which now sits in my daughter's room. Although my daughter Myla was not able to meet my grandmother before she passed away, creating pieces with the beautiful colors drawn from this eclectic table was my way of bringing this influential woman into her life. Every time I look at the mustard yellow, gray and white set hanging in Myla's room, I can hear my grandmother saying enthusiastically, as she often did, "It's marvelous!"

3. Is there a project you've always dreamed of creating? What would it be?

One of my desires is to create a piece that includes all of my favorite artistic elements. I love working with burlap, lace, denim, hemp, felt and even old unique clothing that has been tossed aside. Someday I would love to combine all of these materials into one large and beautifully striking piece!
