you WON

Thanks to everyone for all the sweet comments.
We are doing very well. Very, very, very well:

Charlie has lots of love for this little person who has moved in
to his playground. He wants to share his sippy cup and give kisses.
[I expect some jealousy to come, but for now he just giggles
and wants to hold Jack's hand.]

I am resting and feel better than I have in a very l o n g time.
[Thank you Jack for coming out.]

Peas Please { a G I V E A W A Y }

THIS GIVEAWAY IS CLOSED.

Because waiting is no fun and giveaways are...
Let's have a giveaway!

Mama Pea over at
has agreed to giveaway a cartoon just for you!

If you remember she created this one for me,
and we LOVE it.

If you win your custom cartoon portrait will be in black ink on white paper, and matted in white. The drawing is approximately 5x7" and the total size once matted is 8x10" - so it will be ready for framing in a standard-sized 8x10" frame (frame not included).

Mama Pea will work with any details or special requests regarding who you want in the picture, clothing, hairstyles, poses, etc. She will create a one-of-a-kind, unique artistic interpretation of your photo in her own original cartoon style, according to whatever requests or specifications that you may have.

TO ENTER:

Giveaway open to my blog followers/RSS feed subscribers only
(if you aren't one, the more the merrier, just follow or subscribe).

There are FOUR possible ways to win - please leave a separate comment for each entry.

★ Visit Growing Sweet Pea and come back here and let me know your favorite cartoon
(be sure to look through the older posts - she has so many cute cartoons)

★ Become a follower of Mama Pea's blog

★ Blog or Tweet about this giveaway and provide a link

★ Let me know what you would choose as your custom cartoon portrait if you won

Winner will be chosen through Random.org.

dream B I G

As a child I had aspirations of things like
becoming a teacher (I liked to be in charge),
becoming a clothing designer (I could draw a pretty impressive frilly dress),
becoming a Disney singer (I could give Ariel a run for her money in vocals).

Life happens and dreams change.
I met Mr.Wonderful (a dream come true);
I got a job (love wasn't paying the bills);
we started a family (a dream I never knew I had).

And I still have dreams...
traveling to Italy and Napa Valley,
writing freelance articles for a magazine,
owning a dishwasher.

Jiminy Cricket! One of my dreams came true.

I loaded my dishwasher this morning.
It's the first time in SEVEN years of marriage we have owned a dishwasher.

If you wish upon a star...

Thanks to W&G for your donation, Mr.Wonderful  & Hoppy for all your hard work,
and my parents for making it electric.

♥ I heart art ♥ Smack

Did you know a group of jellyfish is called a smack?
I did not.

I remember the first time I saw a jellyfish-
I was probably 5 or 6.
I was visiting Mexico Beach, FL and there were these amazing blue, bubbly things washing up on shore.
Then, one stung my pinky marking my fear of coming close to one on land or sea.

Sherie Myers

Be sure to visit each artists' shop
and view their great work.

Hope you enjoyed my smack {smiles}.

wait a minute

While we wait, I have decided to take advantage of my *free* time.

This is a project I started back in 5th grade [seriously & why do I still have this?].
I will not be finishing this lovely pillowcase that lines the bottom of my sock drawer,
but I will be creating a fun project along the same lines...

...embroidering some little things for BabyJ.
I know nothing about embroidery. Nothing.
So, I will just start here

with my late grandmother's embroidery needles (I see I have two in that section),
and my little loop and some thread/yarn...
this will be interesting.

I will also be continuing to rest.

Thanks to Mr.Wonderful, I was surprised with a *preggi pedi* this week.
I went for HOT PINK since we just see blue and green and yellow around here.

And last but not least -

I am making progress on the paintings for the nursery.

And we wait. One down. Nine to go.
Have a wonderful weekend!

stop and go

[Mr.C a week old in his car seat.]

[Mr. C at 18 months in BabyJ's car seat.]

We actually moved him out of this carrier 10 pounds ago
and just pulled it out of storage.
He likes to check it out every now and then,
though he hated it when it was in the car.

The past 4 days have been eventful/uneventful for BabyJ.
Contractions have actually started.
For now, it's stop and go = excitement and disappointment.
However, since the contractions have started
my low BP problems have lessened-yay!
And for the 4985 time, I will say,
"I am ready to have this baby."

It's a girl!

My dear friend is expecting her first
{a girl} in a few weeks.
She has chosen the above
sweet bedding for the nursery.
As a gift, I made this painting for her.

Congrats A! I can't wait to meet Baby-Girl.
Now if I can only finish my paintings for BabyJ.
{I wonder if all people who create handmade things tend to slack
when it comes to their own homes...
I know several of you who don't, but I am guilty.}

take it easy on me {baby talk}

Yesterday involved another visit to Labor & Delivery.
BabyJ is giving Mama a tough time.
My blood pressure has been dropping
causing me to almost pass out daily for over a month.
However, every time I have gone to have my BP checked it has regulated.
Finally, it happened at a doctor's visit and then again while being monitored at the
hospital, so we now know (at 36 1/2 weeks) I am having "hypertensive episodes".
Meaning - I. Must. Rest.

I will be taking it easy and doing more things like snuggling...

Thankfully the nursery is 90% ready.
Mr.C's old baby clothes have been washed along with a few gifts from Na-Na.

And these canvases are no longer blank, they are lime-greenish blank.

And will hopefully transform into these animals with a little bit more pizazz.

And my bags are kind of packed, just kind of.
Now, I must go and rest.
