two months and updates

-We still have a case of the crazies.
-I have painted for 15 minutes this week.
-We visited a specialist last week about Jack's heart.
-I discovered a new level of sleep deprivation.
-I decided I really miss keeping up with my blog friends and blogging.
-The weather has cooled off down here and fall is in the air!

About Jack's ♥
The "minor defect" is actually three different things.
Two that are common and many babies grow out of,
but the third is something we don't know much about.
For now we still hope and pray and enjoy this little chubs.
J-man is such a sweet guy and very smiley,
and by his growth you would never know his little heart isn't normal.

Thank you so much for all your sweet comments of encouragement and your prayers.

missing in action

A few weeks ago I mentioned here I had things put into perspective.
And obviously I am short sighted because I had to have them put back into perspective again yesterday.

To make my long story shorter...
J-man has a minor heart defect.  He is healthy and strong and this is something that most likely will not affect him or will heal on it's own.  However, hearing the news something might be wrong with your little baby shakes things up.
So, I may be missing in action {as I have been recently} trying to rest, spending time with the little people, going to doctor's visits, doing minimal cleaning to keep the house from being reported to the health department, etc.

Yesterday before I found out the news about the heart defect I trying to convince J-man he was ready to go to sleep, and I saw a red bird outside. I haven't seen one since winter I guess.  It was my reminder that everything's gonna be alright.

So until we blog again...peace.

{I have a thing for red birds. It's a long story and not so easy to explain, but whenever I have needed reminding that I have a purpose, that I am loved, that everything is going to be alright...I see a red bird...and when I am with my husband we will see two. It is something special just for me.}

It's pretty crazy around here.
After I had Mr.C I wondered about why you need help from friends and family - the baby just sleeps, you can still cook, clean, etc.
Then at 6 weeks I discovered I needed backup - the baby "wakes up", cries like crazy, decides to only sleep in 15 increments.
When I said a lot of this and a little of that, well scratch that.
I may never finish a painting.

C.R.A.Z.Y. I'm just sayin...

hanging around

We have been enjoying mobiles around here lately.
I think Mr.C likes the mobile on the play gym more than J-man does.

I've been doing a little of this and that lately.

[I mean a LOT of this]

[and just a little of that]

this little piggy...

...likes to save money.

I search for coupons, use rewards programs,
and take advantage of free shipping or special offers as often as possible.

[photo by s2photo]

Did you know:
Target ] offers coupons for clothing and accessories?
This week there are coupons off Merona dresses and purses.

Stonyfield ] Yogurt offers a rewards program?
Last month I cashed in my rewards for $10 worth of
Seventh Generation cleaning products & they arrived in a week.

Michaels ] has weekly deals & sends coupons to you via email - like up to 75% off?
I buy all my supplies on sale or with coupons.

[ Snapfish ] offers discounts all the time?
They have free shipping through Sept. 11 & 120 prints for $10 through Sept. 13.

[ ] has coupons for tons of name brand items?
From diapers to coffee (two things I use a lot of) you can save a good bit.

This little piggy wants to save as much as possible - what sites do you use to save?

seasons change

I am looking forward to the seasons changing.
The weather has given us a little tease with cooler morning temperatures.

A few of my favorite things about fall are:

{Ginkgo leaves changing}

{riding with the windows down}

{college football}

{the color brown}

What do you like about fall?

dancing in September

"Say do you remember
dancing in September...
never was a cloudy day."

September, what a great month.
It lets me know Fall is on the way.
Earth, Wind, And Fire, whoa, whoa...
just makes you wanna dance.

better late...

...for Rachel and Shannon {sorry for the delay}.

Here are a few interesting things about yours truly:

  • I am hapa pukiki - my dad was born and raised in Hawaii and is Portuguese making me *part* Portuguese.
  • I have a true love for strawberry jam/preserves. My PB & J always includes strawberry. Don't even think about a plain biscuit...and if I do get a biscuit with chicken (it's called Chik-fil-A) or egg or sausage I eat the meat/egg and then enjoy the biscuit with strawberry jam.
  • The summer after my freshman year in college I ended up traveling all over the US.  The most memorable trip included 2 friends (one being Mr.Wonderful and the other being a German exchange student). We sold a bunch of stuff at a flea market, took our earnings (probably like $100) and several rolls of quarters and drove from Savannah, Georgia to NY via I-95 in a old Honda. We stayed in several shady motels, crashed at a friend's parents house (who were so very gracious to accept us), and ended up with free tickets to see David Letterman. Good times.
  • My coffee must be fresh brewed.  By fresh I mean, okay the coffee is ready right now and I have to pour my cup because if I wait even 3 minutes it tastes funny.
  • I was married on a Friday afternoon around 4:30 PM at The Little White Wedding Chapel in Kissimmee, FL and right afterwards rode the Rockin' Roller Coaster at MGM Studios.
  • I have a difficult time using my nice I still have some given to me as a graduation gift from high school.  I guess I think I better save it unless I have someone important to send a thank you note to. [Note to self: use your nice stationary - the people around you are the *important* ones.]
  • I am a bargain shopper - I will not buy an item of clothing, home decor, etc. until it is on sale/clearance unless I absolutely need it. AND my husband likes to shop more than I do.
  • I read really fast.
  • I talk slow (not in a weird way, I just talk slow and was once asked if I came with a fast forward button).
  • My idea of a dream vacation includes the Gulf of Mexico with nothing to do [including changing diapers, putting little ones down for a nap, etc].
Feel free to share something interesting about you :)
