Yesterday I heard giggles
and squealing in another room.
I peeked around the corner
to see Charlie making Jack laugh,
and then he gave him a hug and kisses.
I know these boys will fight.
I know there will be days
when they can't stand one another,
but today they think the world
of each other and I love it.

PS. Don't forget today is the last day to enter the giveaway.

Oh, Michael

It is currently 7:14 AM.
I have already cleaned the kitchen,
done 2 loads of laundry,
and danced to Michael Jackson's greatest hits.
Mind you, all by force, not choice.

{sharing is caring} felt, fun and free

Told ya.
More felt love.
After making my wreath I had to
make more of these precious felt flowers.
I needed to actually do something with them though,
so I took a simple headband and attached it.

Want to make one?
Sure you do.
Just be careful with the hot glue :)
Go see Danielle
and follow her directions on how to make felt flowers
and instead of attaching them to a wreath,
just stick them on a headband.
Boom. Easiest tutorial I ever did.

But wait, there is more...
I will let you have one of these.
Yes you.

Leave me a funny comment
{it's Monday and I need some funny,
but I'll take just a hello}
and you will be entered to win a headband
with two sets of felt flowers
and a set of felt flower bobby pin clip-things.
I will pick two winners - one gets the black head band and the other gets the white one.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
For extra entries
{leave an additional comment for each entry}:
-become a follower, if you are just say so
-tweet about it @paintmeapic
-share about it on your blog/facebook

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

stripes x 3

“Once you can accept the universe as
being something expanding into an infinite nothing which is something,
wearing stripes with plaid
[or as Jack does
on stripes
on stripes
is easy.”

{sharing is caring} how I almost lost my finger

This post could have about 32 titles:
-wreath wrath
-how to make a wreath in 23 days {literally}
- {glue}gun shy
-reason #761 I am not Martha

But, I thought the loss of a finger would sum it all up {smiles}.

I found this amazing yarn wreath tutorial
usually don't never do projects.
I mean I would love to but with babies & painting,
you know...
However, back on December 26th
my thoughts were,
"I can do this in a week before I start painting again".
Go ahead, laugh with me.
My thoughts 23 days later are,
"Good things take time".

A few things I will share with you:
-Danielle's tutorial was great
& she will answer any questions you have,
just email her.
-Mr.C almost lost his life because I left the unfinished wreath within his reach and he dragged it around the living room by the skein of yarn
(yeah it's my first time using the word "skien").
-I have fallen in love with felt.
Be prepared to see it again and again and again.
-I dropped a piece of strawberry topping
from a piece of cheesecake and spilled a drink on my wreath.
A girl gets hungry being crafty.
-On the night I had 85% of the wreath wrapped
I had a nightmare that Mr.C unraveled it entirely.
-I almost lost a finger last night when I was completing my wreath and hot gluing on the flowers
{see scene of the accident pictured above where the glue dripped and I got burned}.
-If you burn yourself with hot glue here is how to treat it.
-Michael's has yarn on sale and a 40% off coupon this week
so you could make this wreath for under $5; I did.

The End.

a star for Owen

A few months ago a came across this precious Jewish nursery
when it was featured on Spearmint Baby.
Since then I have enjoyed following Tamara's blog {Please Send Parenting Books
and watching Mr.Owen grow.

Last week I sent Mr. Owen a special painting
with the Star of David and his name written in Hebrew {a first for me}.

You can read about the details of the nursery here
Tamara did an awesome job creating this nursery, and I hope Owen's star adds the perfect touch.

color me bad

Since Mr.C is a budding artist,
and he preferred to make a BIG mess with these,
I decided to buy him some *washable* markers.

I am so glad these markers are preferred by teachers,
but they are not preferred by this mama.
Do you see the word *washable* anywhere?

Nope, I didn't think so.
I do see that these are
"for ages three and up; it's on the box".

I also see that Mr.C decided not to color inside the lines...

And I see a little marker under his nose
and hot pink all over his hands.
Obviously I forgot to make sure I actually bought *washable* makers.
Live and learn folks. Live and learn.
